It is part of the municipality bureau of information and is coordinated by U.R.P.
(Ufficio Relazioni con il Pubblico – Public Relation Bureau). It was inaugurated
on June 23rd 1999 as Info Point Europa and confirmed in the new Europe Direct
network in May 2005.
The Europe Direct Network is relatively young as in May 2005 took the place of
the “old” Info Point Europe and Carrefour networks. Nowadays it counts around

We in Trieste…
- ...know the Eu main themes quite well and will always do our best to answer
your questions immediately. But… sometimes even our expertise could be at loss.
Why? There is just too much information available, that is why. Do not despair,
though. In case we would not be able to answer at once we will strive and help
you to find the information you need.
- …have many free publications : official documents, magazines, leaflets, maps,
CDs, videocassettes, posters and other material published by the Publications
Bureau of the European Commission. And we can consult together even the few
databases that are not free.
We are experts on the YOUTH PROGRAMME (official sending organisation), run
promotional campaigns in the region regularly, publish one booklet a year and
our staff can manage several foreign languages. We also part of the Eurodesk
