Europe Direct Trieste is run by the Municipality of Trieste on agreement with the European Commission. It is part of the municipality bureau of information and is coordinated by U.R.P. (Ufficio Relazioni con il Pubblico – Public Relation Bureau). It was inaugurated on June 23rd 1999 as Info Point Europa and confirmed in the new Europe Direct network in May 2005.

The Europe Direct  Network is relatively young  as in May 2005 took the place of the “old” Info Point Europe and Carrefour networks. Nowadays it counts around 393 offices all over the 25 Eu member states. In Italy at least one in every region. You can check our  addresses and activities in http://europa.eu.int/comm/relays/ed_en.htm

We in Trieste…

- ...know the Eu main themes quite well and will always do our best to answer your questions immediately.  But… sometimes even our expertise could be at loss. Why? There is just too much information available, that is why.  Do not despair, though. In case we would not be able to answer at once we will strive and help you to find the information you need.

- …have many free publications : official documents, magazines, leaflets, maps, CDs, videocassettes, posters and other material published by the Publications Bureau of the European Commission. And we can consult together even the few databases that are not free.

We are experts on the YOUTH PROGRAMME (official sending organisation), run promotional  campaigns in the region regularly, publish one booklet a year and our staff can manage several foreign languages. We also part of the Eurodesk network.

Any enquiries? Any problems? Just e-mail or fax us. Preferably in Italian, English or French.

Our website offers a shorter English version and plenty of  pictures of our activity (check the Photogallery in the homepage).

Thanks to the help of our colleagues/translators all over Europe we hope to be able to make this site really multilingual  in the near future.
